Now THAT really sounds like fun!  We have driven up to Tennessee and watched them rafting on the Okoee River and it is fun to just watch.  I am a chicken though and have never tried it.  We have a vacation home in Costa Rica and they do it there also.  Maybe I will "face my fears" and give it a try one of these days!

GREAT pics, even with your secondary camera!  You just have a talent for seeing those good shots!  Glad you had so much fun!

Gerry, it looks fun!  It has been a number of years since I did anything like that.  I remember it being great fun!

Gerry - Ever thought of tourism photography?  You are certainly promoting Montana very well with all of your scenic photography in your various postings.  I will need to visit one day.

Every year, Newfoundland and Labrador always has very good TV tourism commercials promoting their scenery.

I love WATCHING rafters, looks like you had fun!  Great weather day, and good no cameras were damaged!  We dumped a canoe once, with ourselves and everything in it! My camera went into auto mode and took a series of underwater, under-canoe shots that were pretty cool! Was not a good day for the camera, after that...=0(

Now that's a sweet ride Gerry, blue skies, cool rock formations and some white water. I've only gone rafting once down the Colorado River and Woo-Hoo it was fun!

Your photos came out quite well too.

Debbie,

You should give it a try on a river where the flow of water is perfect for beginners.  A good guide, doing it with friends and family, and wearing a life vest should also help appease some of the fears.  It is fun and refreshing!  Thank you for the compliments.

Tony and Darcy,

It still is great fun.   This was the first time for me in more than 4 years.

Marc,

Merci beaucoup.   Photography has been a good hobby of mine and since moving to Montana, I have caught the trigger-happy-bug.   I remember seeing some of the tourism commercials for Newfoundland and Labrador when I used to live in Quebec and Ontario.   Thank you for the nice comment.

Cheryl,

We were lucky to have great weather during the rafting, very lucky!  It was cloudy in the morning, nice and sunny during the afternoon when we were on the river and it started raining shortly after we were done rafting.   We could have not timed it better!  Thank you for sharing your story of the canoe and the camera incident.  I was willing to risk losing the functionality of my secondary camera since I had not used it for over two years since buying my latest one.  It took me a while to remember how to use it again. :)

Cynthia,

Thank you for stopping by.  I am glad I was able to nicely capture some of the beautiful scenery along the way.   My friends who were visiting where very happy that I brought my secondary camera and was able to get some good shots of them having fun rafting.  Thank you for the positive feedback.

Looks like a great adventure, I have never done real heavy white water just a few small rollers.
