A fine example of exemplary client service--a rare find these days!

My new computer bag from Richshaw Bagworks. Love it!

WARNING: I might get on my high-horse a bit! In my opinion, client service is something that has gone down the drain in this country (generally speaking).  I feel compelled to share with you a great client service story I personally experienced.

I recently attended Secret Sushi Social's Tweetup event at the Sonya Paz Fine Art Gallery in Campbell, CA (Silicon Valley area). It was a great time and I got to meet some of the tweeples that I know from Twitter--follow me http://twitter.com/DawnThomasCRS.

Secret Sushi http://twitter.com/SecretSushi had organized great vendors and raffle prizes for our Tweetup. My husband, Jonathan, REALLY (and I mean REALLY) wanted the grand prize--a stylish computer bag from Rickshaw Bagworks. http://www.rickshawbags.com/.

Although we were not the winners of the bag that evening, I tracked down the lucky lady who was and secretly bought it from her for Jonathan's 50th birthday. After seeing how much he loved his new bag, I purchased one myself through the website.

Completely miscalculating how large of a bag I would need, I ordered the wrong one. When it arrived (less than two days later I might add), I loved the look and workmanship, but quickly realized that it would not fit all of the documents I carry around, plus my laptop. I called Customer Service Specialist, Kati Jackson, at Rickshaw. Without hesitation or making me feel like a dork, she said she would order the correct size for me (again, the mistake being 100% my fault), Furthermore, Kati said she would do so without having the original bag in hand. I mean, who does this anymore?!?!? Trust in business is a lost art that I hope people relearn (oops! the high-horse, again). The original bag was promptly mailed it back to Kati. I just received the replacement and she received the original all on the same day.

I would love to give Rickshaw glowing reviews on http://www.yelp.com/biz/rickshaw-bagworks-inc-san-francisco if I still had the ability as a small business owner, but I don't (this is a different high-horse that has been beaten to death and won't get revived). I wanted to let my community know about this awesome experience I had with this local company. I would HIGHLY recommend Rickshaw Bagworks if you are in the market for a cool, stylish, superb-quality, useful computer bag.

The point is that we all have client-facing situations day in and day out--no matter what side of the table we're on.  I suspect that the outcome for Rickshaw will be fairly sizeable since I have told EVERYONE I know--online and off--about my awesome experience.  Can you imagine what the outcome would be if every customer-facing individual would make such a positive impression on clients?   I'd love to see the before and after P&Ls for those companies.  WOW!

Enjoy!
