Betchya didn't know that Antigua means "ancient" in Spanish? Its OK. I didn't know it either until I read it on Viscape.
Here is a snippet from the Viscape site....
Antigua
In Spanish, Antigua means “ancient;” however, there’s nothing ancient about this pristine vacation destination except maybe its timeless beauty. Located in the West Indies in the Caribbean region of the Leeward Islands, Antigua is the main island of the country of Antigua and Barbuda and boasts a developed, upscale tourism industry replete with perfectly realized white sand beaches and swaying palms trees that make even the most cynical of travelers want to snap a shot to email to the guys at work. And with folks like Eric Clapton, Giorgio Armani and – gasp – Oprah Winfrey owning prime Antigua vacation homes, the real estate in Antigua will always be a hot commodity.

Antigua can be named the jewel of the Caribbean. Among some of the things not to be missed are English Harbor in the South, which is a natural anchorage for sailing boats and yachts. There's the museum which traces back the life during the British colonization. Another spot is Shirley Heights, which is the highest point in the island. It is a restored fort where every Sunday you have local bands playing music from 4PM to midnight. If you want to have a taste of the British lifestyle in the Caribbean, Antigua & Barbuda should be on your calendar.
