The public impression of Realtors is one of mixed emotions. Some people love them, others want nothing to do with them. The later, are usually most concerned about the cost of commissions. Everyone knows price will drive the market. The lower the price, the better the value is perecived by the consumer. In Osceola County, there are over 7000 single famiy homes for sale currently. The number of qualified buyers is significantly lower than that. The mid range homes in the $300-$350,000 price bracket are not moving much at all.
The quandry home sellers face is determined predominantly by WHEN they purchased their home. If purchased within the last 2-4 years chances are they were the economic upswing of the Real Estate Market. Therefore they have little to no equity established from which they can draw dwon on by reducing their current selling price.
They cannot and will not sell the house for less than they paid. There are hundreds of thousands of people stuck in this no win situation. Or is it?
