UPDATE On Advising My Client NOT To Spend Money On Staging!

By
Mortgage and Lending with Liberty Bank of Arkansas

Remember the post on my client that I advised NOT to spend money on staging...

 http://activerain.com/blogsview/1104030/i-advised-my-client-not-to-spend-money-on-staging-not-yet-

I hadn't staged this home yet because the seller was getting estimates on painting. He was on a tight budget and we were working through the process of what needed to be done first.

But tonight 11 days after cleaning...I receive a email...

HOUSE UNDER CONTRACT AFTER 12 MONTHS ON THE MARKET. THE BUYER (A Female) COMMENTED ON HOW CLEAN THE HOUSE WAS!!!

And this seller thought my cleaning fee was to much and wanted me to discount it. VERY VERY small investment on this one!

Okay Donna; now I need you to come clean my house! :) You and your team must have done one heck of a cleaning job on this house. I'm sorry you didn't get to stage it, but cleaning it seems to have done the trick. Great advice for this homeowner...I mean home SELLER!

Wow, that is wonderful news, Donna!  White glove clean really is a key component in getting a property sold.  Your seller must be very appreciative of the service you provided.  Great job!

You know -- this has inspired me to add a detailed house cleaner to my team.  Hadn't thought of that before, I just always refer it out.  Hmmmmmmmmmmmm . . .  thx for sharing this.

More importantly, Congrats!

Peg, Ha, I need someone to clean my own house...just never seems to be enough time in the day. Of course I would have loved to stage it but I'm happy for the seller. His email said "what a relief to finally sell this home after 12 months" that's reward enough for me.

Mary, Thanks, he was very happy!

Karen, Thanks, I don't clean carpets or outside windows I leave that to the pros. But it helps generate extra income right now. Just like on this job...at least I got paid for cleaning!

Cynthia,  Thanks, I almost couldn't believe the email I was getting on this one. 11 days!!!

Ginger, You better believe I ASKED for a testimonial, I'm sure I'll get one.

You Go Girl!  Staging a dirty home doesn't make sense.  It's well worth it to get it cleaned, and your story proves the point.

Sheila,  Thank you!

Lori, It had to be cleaned before I would have staged it. But it sold before I could stage!

Debra, Thanks!

Cindy, The seller gave me a great testimony!
