If you leave a comment, Russel will visit your blog and comment. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Viking Range Corporation have announced a voluntary recall of Viking built-in 48-inch side-by-side refrigerator/freezers and built-in 36-inch refrigerators with bottom freezers.

"Viking has received 57 reports of doors detaching, including four reports of injuries involving bruises, broken toes/fingers, and strains, and minor damage to floors and counters."

The recalled refrigerators sold for between $4,725 and $6,400 from July 1999 through April 2006.

Free-standing models and the 42-inch models are not involved in the recall, and only certain model numbers and serial numbers, affecting about 45,000 units, are involved.

To determine if your refrigerator was recalled, check the model number and serial number on the official CPSC recall notice at the CPSC web site.

To learn how to do recall research on all the appliances in your home, and to get recall notices as they are released (instead of waiting on someone like me to tell you), click here.

The CPSC also provides many useful articles which you can use to provide extra impact to your own marketing efforts. Click here for an example.

$4700 - $6400 and the door falls off!!!??? Looks like Viking may need a bailout so that they can buy some longer screws!!!
