ActiveRain is a great network for so many reasons. From where I stand, it appears that ActiveRain is constantly trying to improve its community, its blog platform, etc. to enhance the Activerain experience for its members. Now, I love the ActiveRain featured post newsletter and enjoy reading its featured posts as well as its featured members section. However, I find three things missing that I would really love to see. For all I know, these features may be available and I simply haven't figured out how to access them so if the features are available just point me gently in the right direction.
Featured Newsletter: Is there any archive of the Activerain newsletter where I can read the featured posts from prior days, weeks and months? I often miss the featured post and often catch it days later only because one of the bloggers have re-posted it on their blog or provided a weekly update or summary of featured posts in their blog post.
Featured Posts: I often discover a new blogger and really like their content. I would be interested in reading other posts that they may have had featured assuming that featured is more likely than not to be some of their better posts. But let's be honest some of these talented bloggers have 600 posts spread over several years and there is little or no likelihood of me using the tags or paging through their blog to find the featured gems. Is there anyway to find featured posts by a specific writer?
Search Engine: I like that there is a search engine for ActiveRain as well as channels to locate articles of interest. However, I would love to see a search engine that allows you to search by author or by date range or by number of comments or by whether it is a featured post or by topic or by any and all of the foregoing. Frankly, the search results from the Activerain aren't terribly helpful. For example, search on the federal tax credit or $8,000 and you pull up 10 pages of posts. It is simply too unwieldy to be of much help.
These aren't criticisms. Rather, they are more in the vein of a request or suggestion. Or, more accurately, it may just be a plea for some guidance if the requested items are available and I simply haven't located the product feature.
Is it just me or would other members of Activerain be interested in seeing some of these items as future improvements?
