Summer Solstice: This annual event when the sun is at the farthest distance north of the equator is best told with photos at Presque Isle.
Waiting for Dawn
When I left my home I was afraid the fog/clouds would block the sunrise
Anticipation . . .
Within two weeks the sun will be directly centered on the channel leading to Lake Erie
Awesome beauty

I used to live closer to Presque Isle Peninsula & Presque Isle Bay and i walked here frequently often early in the morning. One summer I discovered this phenomenon. During the weeks leading to the summer solstice and for a few weeks after the sun comes up almost over the channel. The clouds and the water often add their own statement to nature's beauty. Each year I try to celebrate the summer solstice by walking here. This year I brought my camera so I could share the awesome beauty with you.
Erie, Pennsylvania is to the right and Lake Erie is left. Everyone is welcome
