Opening night for the Brainerd Blue Thunder team at the Mills Field will be against Battle Creek, Michigan. Pam Marrs, owner, in entering her 3rd season along with husband Skip, says that final preparations are always a bit hectic.
Some factors that the team will be dealing with this year are road construction, as Washington Street in Brainerd is under going work, expansion of the division, and the high gas prices.
The Northern Division is: Brainerd, Rochester, St. Cloud, Duluth, Mankato, Alexandria, Thunder Bay (Canada)
The Southern Division is: Battle Creek, MI, Green Bay, Wausau, Madison, Eau Claire, La Crosse all from WI and Waterloo, Iowa.
Opening night will be the first of 16 home games in the first 31 days for the Blue Thunder team. Starting in July, there will only be 18 home games left in the season. Sunday, June 3, the Miss Brainerd Lakes 2007 candidates will be introduced on the field and enjoy the game from the private box section. Former
Miss Brainerd Lakes 2005, Allison Lordbock, daughter of Arthur and Kathleen Lordbock, will again be singing the National Anthem a'cappella.
