Interest rates have really shot up this month. Within one week the rates moved from 4.5% to 5.5%. Wow, right? Actually, if you can remember, last year's interest rates were in the range of 6-7%. So, 5.5% is not so bad. Some predictions I've heard are that interest rates will never get that low again and some are estimating that the rates will be up to at least 6% by December.
The Anchorage Real Estate Market experienced a small boom because of the combination of many factors which made the Anchorage Real Estate Market a more buyer friendly atmosphere. The combination of low interest rates, and the first time home buyer tax credit has really moved much of the homes priced under $300,000.
