Re-Blogging on ActiveRain who do you recommend?

By
Real Estate Agent with HER Realtors

owl I try to use Re-blog to add content about mortgage, finance, home inspection, short sales, foreclosures,  appraisal, staging, decorating.... I am primarily Re-Blogging the content to my Outside blogs.

Re-blogging WHO Do you Recommend?

How do you determine something that you want to Re-Blog?

For me:

1.  Are they talking to consumers or are they talking to me?  I prefer to Re-Blog content written to consumers.

2.  Do they have a big hairy advertisement for themselves at the bottom.  Small and tasteful is OK...

3.  Are the images in their post identified with text? Are they using the alt text on images to spam?

Who and what I've Re-Blogged recently:

Mortgage /Finance

Decor, Staging

Real Estate Agent

If you don't believe in Re-Blogging... move along. If you don't understand Re-Blogging search ActiveRain for posts that explain it.  Brad Andersohn, Bob Stewart and others have written about Re-blogging.

Who or what have you Re-Blogged? Feel free to add a link to your Re-Blog or the original post.

HI Maureen, I reblog something I want to get out into Ann Arbor or Saline localism for consumers in my area.  A couple of yours I also reblogged. I have a few bookmarked to reblog, if they are featured  I want to give them time to get all the exposure on their post that they can before I reblog it.

Used wisely it is a great feature to have.

Maureen, I haven't set up an outside blog yet.  However, your idea of reblogging postings geared towards consumers on various topics is very useful.

Anyone to recommend either of you?

Missy most of what gets featured is NOT talking to consumers.  The way I post RE-blogs I am not trying to start conversations with other members,  take comments away from the blogger so as long as they offer it I am not going to worry about waiting if it is good content for consumers.

I look for content from people who are not real estate agents but find most of them are blogging to real estate agents here or to one another rather than addressing posts to the general public.

I Re-Blogged a post from a home inspector though that got featured and he changed the content to talk to RE agents as a result of getting featured.  It was kind of ambiguous who he was talking to before it got featured.

Marc Welcome to ActiveRain.  I've Re-Blogged some stuff that is member to member content on ActiveRain but the majority of what I Re-Blog is written to consumers.  I try to fill out my OUTSIDE blog with syndicated (that's what Re-blog is)  content that I can NOT write.

Karen I Re-Blogged one J. Belonger post because he was the only one who was talking about it.   The expert thing and self promotion on the bottom of his posts is a turn off to me, personal choice. I am sure he is Re-Blogged a lot.

I Re-Blogged a...  New Mexico......or AZ  lender Mike Jones... (?) who wrote a great post to consumers about getting in contract on a house you can close on.

Lenn hmmmm I would think she'd either be hyperlocal or talking to other agents.  I don't think I've ever Re-Blogged her.

I would love to Re-Blog local stagers, lenders, inspectors....  I have Re-Blogged a local inspector who has disappeared.

Someone in another state Re-Blogged one of my market reports last night or this morning... Hyperlocal?  It's about Worthington Ohio neighborhood sales last week... I don't get that but....

I think being able to re-blog is a very nice feature. Often I see blogs that have a wealth of knowledge. These are the ones I like to get out to people I'm working with. It is very helpful.

I looked and looked to see what (or who) you'd Re-Blogged Patricia but could not find any Re-Blog posts on your  blog.

I saw that your one feature was Re-Blogged. It was written to the RE industy.... I wonder if putting your website link in the title of posts might keep some people from Re-Blogging your content: It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood..Portsmouth NH Real Estate-Hampton NH Real Estate- www.patricia4realestate.com makes for long titles.   That's really hyperlocal...too.   How is that working out for you?

I have been careful about reblogging, mostly for liability reasons.  There are some people I know do not copy.  There is more and more litigation cropping so I am being a bit conservative.

I think I am very careful Joan.... there is one person in my list there who uses alt tags on photos to spam the search engines, if I had looked real carefully I probably would not have Re-Blogged the two posts I've Re-blogged.  There is an image in one of the posts....ooops make that two... or maybe three,  that make me nervous but if people are sharing their experience (as a home inspector, stager, lender, foreclosure expert, short sale expert)  and it is a Re-Blog I don't believe I am taking on great liability.  They are still responsible for their content being original content, having the right to use images they've used.

I think in order to provide content the risk of Re-Blogging and having to take something down if I find there is a problem with originality or rights is a risk I can take.

I have taken a couple of Re-Blogged posts down and would if I find the content is not original or the blogger did not have the rights to the images they've used.

Maureen,

I've only rebloggged twice. Once for a charity gig, once for an article on moving that Claire did. What I've done more is reference and link to originals.

That said, I'm starting out and don't have a wide outside audience thus far. I DO appreciate seeing what you and others have reblogged.

Irene Referencing and linking is good but Re-Blog is faster...and more importantly you provide YOUR reader a lot more information directly from the EXPERT look at the Re-Blog of Atty. Richard Z's "Should I pay my Mortgage"  there is not a lot I can say personally on that subject. Quoting a few paragraphs and then linking to it is always an option especially if I have a personal experience I can write about... and link and reference.

When it comes to home inspection, finance, mortgage, short sales, foreclosures  I am hesitant to share my clients experiences  but I can provide readers of my ActiveRain blogs EXPERTS on the subject.  Because I have really, really outside older blogs where I am not able to Re-Blog content from experts I can see this as a real asset in providing information to readers of my ActiveRain Outside blogs.   My Outside blogs  aren't all Re-Blogged content, there is local content there.

Maureen, I like the idea of reblogging, but keep forgetting about it.  I have done it a couple of times.  I, too, like consumer driven content if I am going to post somebody else's work.

Jim I have about 1000 extra clicks on my blog for reblogging the 12 posts I mentioned here, in the past two months.  1000 extra clicks is nothing to sneeze at.

I usually reblog anything worth repeating but its usually something that is not my expertise..such as appraisers...mortgage...

Most people who do not reblog or dislike it do not understand the benefits!
