I cant tell if its a yellowtail or amberjack. My husband could. I like going off shore. Here in SC we have to go 60 miles to the gulfstream.

Thanks y'all! It's an Amberjack. If you're ever in Destin, you've got to go on the Lady Em...the captain and crew were fantastic! We had 11 people with us and brought home over 400 lbs of fish! We were catching fish constantly all day...tons of fun :-)

Kevin...well, there were 30 people on our family reunion, so we ate a lot of it while at the beach and then divided up the rest and brought it home. We cooked up a bunch for Father's Day..but I have a feeling we'll be eating fish for a while, LOL!!

Anne, very cool.  I'm trying to figure out what is bigger, the fish or the smile on your face.  :)

Anne, that is a mighty fine looking fish there. Congratulations. When I went in the Gulf my wish were not nearly that big off of Clearwater Beach.

Anne, Destin is my favorite beach destination.......I love going there.  Pretty impressive fishy you got there!  I would love to go deep sea fishing.  I only went once on a party boat and I know that's not the same.

Ann - I went deep sea fishing once off the coast of St.Petersburg, FL.  I didn't catch a fish but the dolphins followed our boat back to shore.  It was delightful to watch and the highlight of the trip.

Did you catch any other fish? I fished once off the back of a small cruise ship and caught a shark. That was wild but I would rather catch something I could eat like you did. What did this fish taste like/
