Been busy getting ready for the 4th Annual Truel Watts Memorial Golf Tournament. Sponsors have been harder to come by this years as have been players. Guess donations & golf games are one of the 1st things to take a hit when budgets get smaller. One thing that seems to confuse me is that all the banks that donated last year are saying no this year. Between not lending much if any money and now not donating any money it just makes me wonder where exactly is all that bail out money going? Just a thought.
Anyway the tournament is this Saturday at The Pines Golf Club (which also happens to be right next door to my office and did I mention that my dad, wife and I originally built the course). The tournament is in memory of my dear friend Truel Watts who passed away 4 years ago. He was very involved with the Reading is Fundamental program so that is where all the proceeds are donated. I play golf once a year at this tournament and everyone has the greatest time. This year we are honored have Truel's brother and son-in-law joining us as well as the Mayor. We have received many wonderful door prizes and the agents in my office are awesome in donating their time to work at the tournament. One thing we really need is for a brief break in the heat...it's in the high 90's with what feels like about 100% humidity so if it could be a little cooler and just maybe a little breeze would be great. Wish us luck!
