The 2nd Major Rental Week of Ten (Now 11-Week) Season starts this week:  June 27 - July  4, 2009 in Ocean City, New Jersey.

We are actually coming off the June 20-27, 2009 week (which is a bit later than usual for the month of June which caused a lot of rental tenants to choose that week because it was just right after school left out, and it was a lower priced week.  So as we move to the June 27-July 4, 2009 week we find more tenants leaving than arriving (at least in our agency office).  Remember we rent primarily in the Northend and Gardens sections of Ocean City (NJ) ... that area from 6th Street north to the end of the island.

Another interesting footnote:  the June 27th week (Saturday-to-Saturday) ends on July 4th ... so you will have one group of tenants leaving on the 4th of July, anothe group arriving on the 4th of July, and a mob of day-trippers here for the 4th of July starting at about the same time.  Although the week, whenever the 4th of July is included, is a good rental week; it is not a great rental week.  In other words, there are lots of local and community and family things that tend to cause rental tenants to rent other weeks here at the shore.  But we will all be here on the 4th ... meeting and greeting the faithful departing and arriving rental tenants.  No holiday for the agents at French Real Estate this year ... at least not until 5PM or later.

Final thoughts:  the best place to see the fireworks in Ocean City, New Jersey ... head for the beach with a beach chair or blanket ... follow the crowd.  You can also see it from my close friend's balcony along 4th and Bay real well ... and if we stay home, we have a great view out our third story window (but two or three is a crowd in that location).  Finally, when the fireworks is over, on a Saturday night when the Boardwalk is more crowded than a normal July 4th on a weekday evening ... the line of traffic and back-ups getting out of Ocean City will last for several hours through the evening.
