Today is "Take Your Dog To Work Day" - Did Your Pooch Go to the Office?

Charlie at workToday - Friday, June 26 - is Take Your Dog To Work Day, according to my HUmane Society of the United States wall calendar!

Since I work from home, I get to take my pooch to work every day - or rather, I'm lucky enough to be able to spend a lot more time with him than if I had a regular 9-5 job. And for that, I consider myself lucky! But poor Charlie! He never gets to get that special attention that he would get if he could accompany me to my office!

So in honor of Charlie and all the other doggies whose "moms" and "dads" work from home and never get to go into work, I invite you to post pics of your pups in the comments below - at work, at play, at rest, whatever your pooch does all day while you work! Post your photos so we can all admire your adorable canine buddies!

Charlie says, "Throw all commenting etiquette out the window and honor your favorite canine by posting his or her pics here!"

And since Charlie's idea of a "day at the office" is really more like a day at the dog park - here he is with his "office mate" Duke, at a Saturday morning "networking event." Here they are at Newtown Park in Johns Creek, GA - one of our favorite dog parks - right around the corner from home!

Have a wonderful day - and go play with your pup!

What fun.  Nothing I like better than showing my dogs photos.  My dogs do sit beside me while I work at home, but when I do go into the office for a short time they can go with me and they get so excited.  They chase each other around until they are out of breath and then they check out each private office to see who is there.  We have a very dog friendly office.

Hi, Sandra! Thanks for commenting and posting pics of your pup! =) It's great to work in a dog-friendly office - my business partner has a dog, as well - Sidney the Dalamatian who is in our team photo. He's our official mascot, and Charlie, I suppose, is now our unofficial one!

Thanks again!

Sounds like Charlie is a lucky guy to have a parent home EVERYDAY! I too work from home some but with all the animals it is hard to do...the bird is WAY too noise when I am on the phone.

I tried to do the Bring Your Dog To Work Day but I did not have enough time to organize it before 6/26. So....I modified it!  We are doing a Keller Williams..."Gone To The Dogs Day" on July 24 instead.  My office is located in a huge community called Baxter Village in Fort Mill, SC. I have invited everyone in the community through the neighborhood newsletter. The event will raise $$ for one of the committees I am on which is made up of different rescue groups trying to educate the public on the proper care of their pets and to help stop animal abuse. Not sure how it will turn out but hopefully we can raise enough money to help a few dogs out and get them off of the end of a chain.

Here's some pics of my babies!

This is Lucy & Zeus                                             This is Molly, she's about 7 mos. old

(Zeus was about 6mo. old at the time)                 Molly gets to go to the beach soon.

They like jumping waves at the beach!

Hi, Jackie! What a wonderful idea to get your office and community involved! I love it! How will you be raising money? Just donations? Or a raffle, silent auction, etc.?

I do something similar - I have a hot dog cookout at my house in the fall and ask guests (friends, family, past clients, etc.) to bring donations for the Atlanta Humane Society - I always end up with a garage full of supplies to donate and have fun at the same time.

Good luck with your event on July 24 - I hope to hear how it went!
