Do you know what kind of bird this is?  I hear the red colour comes from eating shrimp!  You can run but you can't always hide!'

Liz,

Nice photo. My guess is a flamingo because that's how they get their coloring. :)

I saw birds on the beach on Playa Tambor that looked like this; my guess they are also in the southern US; is it a sandpiper or an egret?

Hi Liz... OK, which one of you stole that plastic flamingo off of my front lawn?  I have found that if I get the plastic ones, I don't have to buy shrimp for them to eat!  :)

No, but it's a great photo!   I once was lucky enough to walk an acreage with Robert Bateman, who identified birds (whether visible or not) by their songs, and I've been attentive ever since!

O.k. guess what?  I don't know what the bird i either! lol...I would have thought it was a flamingo - but the beak 'ha ha mike and craig' .....is not like that of a flamingo.......so if anyone knows - please let me know! ! I just fell in the love with the colour - and we couldn't get him to come out from behind the tree!
