IDENTIFYING GREEN FEATURES ON THE MLS?

By
Real Estate Agent with COLDWELL BANKER RESIDENTIAL BROKERAGE

From what I am told, there is a movement to include a GREEN section on the MLS' that serve the NE.  This is already in place out West and will include a designated section on the listing sheet/screen that will allow the Agents to include environmentally friendly features existing in their listings. This will certainly help in identifying properties for our environmentally sensitive buyers.

I welcome it and can't wait.

Good idea. Will be interesting to see these market tools develop.

Gloria, there is a lot of talk about green commercial buildings in my area. I've attended a couple of presentations on green certification. The MLS's will have to include this information sooner or later.

I agree with you Michael.  The sustainability issues surrounding our communities are too important to be ignored by any segment.

I try not to carry around my little soapbox but it is hard to ignore this growing movement.

As real estate agents it is in our best interest to keep on top of housing trends if we hope to survive.

The Toronto MLS does not contain fields for green specific issues at this time.  However, TREB members can always include green comments in any of the three text fields.
