Last night I attended a house warming party of a young service member and his family. There were several service men and women that were in attendance. usually it is the younger guys and girls that are not too keen on buying property in Hawaii for one of the following reasons...
1. Too expensive
2. Will relocate in three years
3. I was told not to do it by a higher rank
4. Do not think they can qualify so they never ask
After making my rounds and introducing myself I was approached by a gentlemen in his 50's that was retired army and a renter. We got to talking and I finally asked why he never took advantage of the VA Loan. He said he would have but he was not eligible. I asked him why? He told me that he had retired 10 years ago and his eligibility had run out, He had no idea that eligibility never runs out. This made me think to myself about all the former military people out there that have HUGE benefits that they are not aware of. Folks if you know of a Veteran please pass the word on.
