GOT HEADACHE? You Need a Good Old-Fashioned EMERGENCY...

By

ARE YOU PRONE TO HEADACHES? Are you someone that always keeps some Advil at hand just in case?

People seem to be so easy-going about taking medication for common symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, a little bit of a runny nose, etc. I have been interested in the subject of health and nutrition since I was 18 and read many books, have done cleanses, detoxing, and really got into taking vitamins and supplements on a daily basis.

When I first moved to Flordia, I started having horrible headaches immediately. After complaining for a week, somebody told me to take Salt and Potassium capsules. I tried it and the headaches were gone.

Since then I have discovered a product I now take several times a day depending on how hot and humid it is, or how much I exercise or run around showing properties. It is called "ElectroMIX" of the EMERGEN-C family of products. If you get nautious, if you get headaches or feel tired from the heat, a packet of ElectroMIX mixed into water can handle the symptoms within minutes.

I always keep some in my purse and pass it out to my clients all the time whenever I hear the question: "Do you have an Advil by any chance? I have a headache."

There are other Emergen-C products I like as well, like the 1,000 mg Vitamin C packet. All these products are a combination of different vitamins and minerals that are essential to the body and a deficiency in the body can create the symptoms people like to take Advil for.

I hope you'll try them too!

Niki:  For some reason, I am one of those people who has never had a headache.  I wonder what one would find if tests were made on both of our blood chemistries to see what the difference was.  That would be interesting.

I'm glad this ElectroMIX product has worked for you.

Actually, if the person has a heart condition and taking certain medications the added potassium can do them harm.  (I know this as we have to watch my hubbys intake.)  I'd be very careful about offering a client something out of my purse.  I'd much rather drive them to the drug store and have them pick out what works for them.

Karen, I cannot imagine somebody never having headaches. I used to have them even as a little kid. I think I was desparately vitamin deficient. When I was growing up we did not know anything about supplements. The daily limit of Vitamin C recommended was 60 mg. So I was constantly craving sugar too. Now if I crave sugar, I take a bunch of Vitamin C, some B-complex, and ElectroMix.

Kris, this is what the ElectroMix has in it:

Calcium: 25 mg
Magnesium: 30 mg
Manganese: 0.5 mg
Chromium: 5 mcg
Potassium: 100 mg
Stevia: 2.5 mg
Other ingredients: Citric acid, malic acid, tapioca maltodextrin and natural flavor.
It has to be dissolved in 1 liter of water.

I think if somebody has a heart condition and knows that they have to stay away from certain things they probably know what they can eat, drink. But next time I can ask.

So far I had three people who specifically asked for Advil, I gave them ElectroMix and the headache was gone. Other times they were complaining about headache not knowing what it was from (and not even considering drugs), I gave them ElectroMix and it alliviated the headache.

Another thing I do is before I run out of the house, I stock up on bottled water. When I am out there showing properties for hours, I drink at least 2 bottles of water, and I make sure my clients drink too. A lot of times clients come here from out of state and they are not used to the heat in Florida. They don't realize they need to keep hydrated.

I am no doctor, but the most successful think for me has been to watch what my body does when I put things into it.

I take antibiotics once a year when I get a cold. I have no other drugs in the house and I hope to keep it that way. I love and admire alternative medicin.

By the way, if I go out for a jog, bike ride or play tennis, ping-pong, anything that results in lots of sweating, I take several Sea Salt, Cell Salts and Potassium tablets. Maybe my body is more sensitive than others, but I need these essential minerals.

Niki:  One more amazing thing... just showing how different we all are.  Although I rarely have anything to drink these days... (heart medication)... I used to drink quite generous portions of wine.  And... years ago, I was a fan of lime daquiri's.  Then, in my college days, of course, more than my share of beer.  With all of this being said... I have never had a hang-over.  Back "in the day"... when I would mention that fact to someone... you wouldn't believe the "looks" I used to get.  Anywhere from thinking I was either lying, or that perhaps I was actually an alien from another planet.  Everybody's different.

Hi Karen,

See that is unreal to me. I get drunk from a half a cup of vine and I probably will have a hangover the next day :-))))

My philosophy about bodies is that every person is different, every person is effected by psychosomatic factors (things their mind is causing to their bodies), every person was raised on different diets, people's bodies get tired or overrun on certain foods (80% of my diet growing up was white flour, now I am allergic to flour).

I don't believe that Atkins, Weight Watchers, Master Cleanse, Dr Natura, blood type diet, etc. is the ultimate answer. I believe that everybody should devote some time figuring out what is best for their bodies. I have been watching for years how I feel after a meal, after I take medication, after I take vitamins, minerals, milk, icecream, sugar, etc. The most simple way to figure out what we should consume , is "DO I HAVE MORE ENERGY EATING / DRINKING THIS? OR DO I HAVE LESS ENERGY?" If more energy, pass, if less, that is a No-No.

One thing I love is the Master Cleanse (Go to: www.therawfoodsite.com ) I do this 3X a year and I love it.

I also love some ideas from "Fit for Life" a book I read many years ago when I was 18 after which I quit drinking milk.

Sugar Blues is a shocking book about the harmul effects of sugar. Unbeliavable data.

Maybe I will make another blog entry on my successful actions on improving my health :-)

Niki

Niki,

I'm with you on feeling tired from heat( living in hot L.A.), so I'm going to try, since dehydration is a terrible condition( I got even in a hospital once).

Also, I have the same weakness to alcohol. Reading Karen stories were interesting:)
