A very nicely composed photo. How are things going in Sacramento? We would love to send some rain your way! We are turning into ducks in New Hampshire.
What a great picture. The building speaks of times gone buy I really like shots like this thanks a bunch for the post
Myrl,
I like old buildings that speak of ordinary history. This is beautiful.
Mike in Tucson
Joan - We had 2 or 3 consecutive days of over 100 degree temps. With Monday being at 108. It will be a tad cooler today - Probably in the mid-90s. We could use your rain.
Charlie - Kingsbury Grade is a road that leads from Lake Tahoe to the eastern slope of the Sierras, and into Carson Valley Nevada. It's lovely all along its way.
Mike - I do too. There is a lot of history in the area of this photo. Folks moving between the California Mother Lode and Gold Rush to the Nevada Silver Mines. When I drive along this road (Kingsbury Grade), it's almost 1849 once again.
Jarad and Amanda - Thanks for visiting!
You take beautiful pictures! Thank you for sharing them
Sincerely,
Kathleen
Very interesting photo, not sure what the structure is... it does look "lovely" :)
Myrl, I love old buildings and imagine what times must have been like when they were built. This is a great shot.
it is just a great piece of history
thanks for sharing it
your friend in Charlottesville Virginia!
Thanks for sharing the photo this morning. My son would love to play on it.
I love finding some of these old barns and building in the woods or on roadsides I haven't explored. Great photot thanks for sharing.
I love these reminders of days, and lives, gone by. I always wonder about the folks who lived in these places.... I used to live in the Sierra foothills, Placerville and Somerset areas. Like here, there is so much of the old mining history. Fascinates me....

I imagine the ruggedness of life in this home - the winters, but also the joys - your photos always get my imagination going, Myrl Happy Fourth!
Myrl, That is really a beautiful picture. But, 108 degree temperatures. That's too hot for anyone. We had that here last week - and it was miserable.
