Using a lender that is reachable and returns my calls in a prompt fashion- Delaware Valley

While there are many potential borrowers that think they are serving their interests best by calling places and asking for a rate or using a big name financial institution instead of a quality service mortgage lender perhaps there are better ideas out there.  After reading through hundreds upon hundreds of comments regarding the current mortgage and loan modification programs, I have come to one conclusion.  The large financial institutions that many of us think to turn to for a loan are giving terrible service.

Lil from Charlotte, NC wrote, "Attempting to speak to a knowledgeable person at Wells Fargo is frustrating.  You can make a call at 8am and speak to an associate and call back and get a different one.  Wells Fargo makes you the caller feel like garbage."

Joyce from New York, NY declared in regards to trying to refinance with CitiFinancial, "CitiFinancial has been unresponsive and I've been transferred around in a circle more than once.  It's no wonder there are so many foreclosures.  So many probably could have been avoided if the banks knew what customer service was.  They just don't."

Linda from Tucson, AZ said, "Chase has been a nightmare with our mortgage rework.  I can get three different stories from three different people on the phone.  The left hand literally has no idea what the right hand is doing."

Finally, a borrower of mine Dawn from OH said to me in regards to her experience with Bank of America, "I am really tired of those mortgage people who take your information and then you never hear from them again."

Clearly, these are not isolated cases.  My question to you is who would you rather work with, a big name company that has cut its staff to 20% of what it used to be so they can show a bottom line profit at the end of the day, or a lender that assigns you one consultant that gives you not only his personal number, but access to his or her cell phone 24/7.  Is there even a reason to answer this question? So whether you are a realtor or a potential borrower, my advice to you is to make sure you are working with one person that will treat you like you are important and not just a number in their computer system.

Until next time....
