The City of Lake Charles presents its 17th annual Red White Blue and You July Fourth Celebration. This patriotic festival has been voted one of the Top 20 Events for the month of July by the Southeastern Tourism Society. The Red White Blue & You Celebration event calendar is listed below.
Southwest Louisiana Patriots Ball - Saturday, June 27th at 6pm
The Southwest Louisiana Patriots' Ball presented by the Mayor's Armed Forces Commission will be Saturday June 27th in the Buccaneer Room of the Lake Charles Civic Center. The Ball begins at 6:00 pm. For ticket information, please contact:

Red White & Blue Ribbon Apple Pie Contest - Wednesday, July 1st from 10am to 1pm
The 2009 Red White Blue & You Festival begins on Wednesday, July 1st witht the Red White & Blue Ribbon Apple Pie Contest. Entries for the pie contest will be accepted from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at the 1911 Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center. Winners will be announced on stage at the Red White Blue and You ceremony on Saturday, July 4th. There will be cash prizes and ribbons for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Pre-registration for the Apple Pie Contest is reccommended. To register, download this Pie Contest Entry Form and return it to:

Red White Blue & You Street Parade - Saturday, July 4th at 6 pm
Come celebrate your patriotic spirit at the annual Red White Blue & You street parade! The parade will begin at the intersection of Mill & Ryan Streets, travel South on Ryan, and conclude at the intersection of Ryan & Sallier (12th) Streets. Individuals or Organizations wishing to show their patriotism are invited to decorate a float or vehicle and join the parade. There is no fee to participate. Parade entries must complete this Parade Entry Form and submit it BEFORE Wednesday July 1st. Mail, fax or drop-off completed forms to:

Red White Blue & You Concert Celebration- Saturday, July 4th at 7 pm
Following the Parade, the celebration continues at the Lake Charles Civic Center Arcade Pavillion. At 7:00 pm, Jay Ecker's Bayou Jazz Kings Dixieland Band will kick off the evening's events. The Mayor will announce the winners of the Red White & Blue Ribbon Apple Pie Contest. The Lake Charles Community Band and the Louisiana Choral Foundation will perform a sing-a-long salute to the U.S. Armed Forces. The evening will end with a fireworks extraveganza over the lake beginning at 9:15 pm.
Everyone is invited to this patriotic program, and you are encouraged to bring blankes or lawn chairs. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved inside the Civic Center.
