Fire District Ballots Mailed and Due In by July 18, 2009
All home and business property owners should have received a ballot in the mail asking you to vote "yes"
or "no" on a tax increase to give additional support to the San Miguel Fire District, the sponsors of the ballot
initiative. You probably received literature asking you to support it and literature asking you not to
support it, remember that the tax is permanent and will be escalated each year by upwards to 4%. Tough
times calls for all to cut back, one statistic was interesting, only 4% of calls are actually fires.
