Do home stagers need branding? You bet!

Home Stager with Shift Property Styling

With the proliferation of new home stagers entering the market, it is important to ensure that your business stays one step in front of the competition.

Most home stagers really offer a similar range of services at similar prices so determining who the client will pick can often come down how the stager is themselves presented. And by this, I don't mean how you look or what you are wearing more how your business looks and what it is wearing.

Your brand is everything, it's what your business says to people, how you communicate with clients, how clients relate to your business. Your brand essence is the thing that can often set you apart from a local competitor, especially when it comes down to price.

So you should ask yourself, have I invested enough in my brand?

As a home stager I am always aware of how my business looks to my clients, my stakeholders, and even my suppliers. It is incredibly important to me as I am aware that if I cannot present my business well, how can I ever present my client's home well?

As a result of this, in addition to running Shift by Design, I have also started Shift Branding International - a service designed to assist home stagers get their business operational from a design and branding perspective with as little fuss and maximum cost efficiencies. Having started a home staging business I know how daunting getting started is and how difficult it is determining a clean, distinguishable logo can be at a price a small business can afford.

Based in Tasmania, Australia, Shift Branding International is now offering support to all home stagers including those thinking about entering the industry, those who have just started or those who have been working in the industry for sometime and now need a new lease of life. And with the AUS$ weaker against the US$ or CAN$ it also makes financial sense to outsource offshore.

Specialising in logo development, brochures, business cards, letterhead, web site design and construction and search engine optimization, Shift Branding can do it all.

If your business needs branding assistance, swing past our website at www.shiftbranding.com to find out more about the business and what we are offering.

Adam:  I have been branding for a few years now.  This past winter I had to revamp my whole look.  Before, I had a red chair that was part of my logo/branding.  Everyone in Portland knew the Red Chair... My new logo/branding is still a chair, but it is now a bright green... even more memorable than the previous.

I've had this discussion with my business partner.  I think we need to be consistent with a particular color: on our business cards, logo, brochures, flyers, and background in emails, prominent on our website (under construction).  She disagrees and thinks the color on our email notices, etc. should complement whatever photo we're featuring.

My feeling is that soon the realtors begin to identify any communication from us by the teal color.  It's tough because I think she has such excellent taste in every other instance.  I'm just not sure she understands branding.
