Active rain

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker RE LLC

I'm here today trying to convince my fellow colleagues of the advantages of getting involved in social networking.  They are skeptical, however the exponential benefits of this type of activity are still in its infancy.  Has anybody out there actually seen any new business result from your activities on either Active Rain or other social networks?

Yes, I was contacted by a homeowner who wanted to sell his house. Listed it; sold it in less than 3 weeks. Looking for more.

Carlos, I have been in the Rain for one year now. I began heavy social networking with FaceBook, Twitter, etc. about three months ago. The answer to your question for me is: NO.  It's a matter of time and I do believe we will not survive in business if we do not keep up with the trends. Good luck!

Carlos, you can find numerous success stories here on ActiveRain of how social media has resulted in Business.  To see how our members have benefited, I would suggest doing a search here on AR for Success Stories.  YOu will find hundreds of examples to share.

Carlos: With consumers more and more going to the internet first to look for homes (around 90%), and about 80% of these searchers finding their realtor online. I think that's a compeling reason to want to have a presence online.

In today's world, consumers are already looking for real estate... especially those in the 'First time Homebuyers' category... they're 25 - 35 years old and very internet savvy...

Being visible online means participating through conversation with people in online communities... I work with realtors in Washington and Oregon... they're getting deals via leads from their efforts online.

Carlos....one piece of advice is to respond on your post to those who take the time to comment on your post.  I don't care one bit for me personally, but it was the best advice that I got when I joined.  I've built a ton of relationships since doing that.  Peace
