Be a Winner, not a Quitter!

The last 5 years in real estate have been pretty discouraging to say the least.  In the beginning I was so excited.  I did the work, put in the time, spent a whole lot of money, and put a lot of energy into my career as a real estate agent.  I felt like I was a climbing mountain only to slide back down.

When the real estate market started to go downhill, I began focusing on my small business as a Mobile Notary/Loan Document Signing Agent.  I do have bills to pay as does everyone else.

I seriously thought about giving up on being a real estate agent.  Even being a landlord has been challenging the past few years because of the drop in rental values.

However, after a lot of consideration, I decided to renew my real estate license again for another 4 years.  I am not giving up!  I am not a quitter!

That seems like a good combination you have going there.  I have always thought you had to do real estate full time, but in the last few years I have been very happy to have had a small side business.  I will not be a super star but I can afford to keep going in Real Estate this way.  I have seen it slow before, but this is the worst I have seen in 28 years.  Congratulations on your decision to hang in.

Small world isn't it? Speaking of a "small world," I went to my grandson's school Christmas program this past year, and the man who actually wrote the song "It's a Small World" (Disneyland) was there with his granddaughter.  I thought to myself.. Wow...it really is a small world after all!

Thanks for stopping by Leslie and for your encouraging words.

Just wanted to say hi Denise and share this with you. The market will change and actually is always changing. Pick a niche, first time home buyers, foreclosures, rentals, luxury homes. Every six months regardless of where the market is you can pull the sales and tell where your market is headed. Whatever is selling, I know sometimes it is hard to tell but there homes selling, it is our job to find what.
