Today I got the great pleasure of hosting a ribbon cutting with the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce for the fine folks at the Old Settlers Association. This group has worked tirelessly for 3 years to make their dream of a Fire House Museum a reality. Today's ceremony was attended by several Williamson County Dignitaries including: County Commissioner Lisa Birkman, City Council Member Rufus Honeycutt, and Congressman John Carter. I always enjoy my volunteer work with the Ambassador program of the Round Rock Chamber as we extend a welcome to new businesses and spread goodwill throughout Round Rock but days like today are really special. Our firefighters and volunteer firefighters work everyday on our behalf and risk their lives for us. This museum represents their history here in Round Rock and more than that it allows them a place to have a lasting and tangible legacy. Congratulations to Old Settlers Association and all of our firefighters and their families.
