Too Busy?

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm so busy with buyers that some days I literally get enough time to eat one meal for the day.  I know, I know, it's a horrible problem to have.  LOL.

Actually, I'm very grateful to the government for their efforts in curbing the housing market crisis.  The main thing that concerns me though, is what might happen once all of the "incentives" disappear.

It reminds me of the auto industry on how accustomed the customers became to the incentive programs that bombarded the industry for years.

We can all appreciate the income now and you'd better tuck plenty away for when the market gets the culture shock once the incentives all dry up.

I WISH I was a first time buyer right now!!!

First time buyers do have the deals right now.  In GA, we have an additional $1800 tax credit for all home buyers closing by November 30.  It certainly does help.

Marty,

Me too, I was going to take off in August to go help out my Mother.  My father passed away this spring...That incentive has just over 140 days left on it...and consumers know this.

In New Mexico buyers can use up to $6,500 of the $8,000 tax credit to pay for down payment and/or closing costs. I'm wondering if there are similar programs in other states?

Karen, you have my condolences!  I wouldn't be surprised if the incentives were extended anyway, again, like the automakers.  I would never tell anyone what to do, but, you only have one mother.  (mine passed when I was 12 years old)  Please don't think I'm trying to put you on a guilt trip either!

Rich, Ohio has come up with some programs and twists in order to help the consumers use some if not all of the $8000.00 now, instead of later.

Jen, thank you for your post as well.

Definitely very busy with clients and with technology studies!  A lot to be learned to maximize down time.
