Southlake Texas, A Great Place to Live !!!

Southlake is a wonderful town that is centrally located between Dallas and Fort Worth. It's only 10 minutes from the DFW Airport, which is very convenient for the business traveler. I have lived here with my family for several years and we just love it...

Southlake has that small town feel, yet we have access to the night life, museums, the theater, zoo's, lakes, parks, golf courses, great shopping and the people here are awesome !! The people are warm and friendly which makes us a great community. We have a common goal....We want a great place to live for our families.

Southlake Town Square looks like Mayberry... We have great shops with a small town "park-like" feel. It's great to see people with their families just enjoying the water fountain in the middle of Town Center with an ice cream cone on a beautiful afternoon. There is always something going on at Town Square....We have an event called Art in the Square. It's amazing to see all the talented Artisns participate in this annual event. I think that I enjoy Southlake Town Square the most at Christmas time.... The lights and the special trip from Santa makes it feel like your in a Fairy Tale story. There is a little Christmas train ride for the children and a small ice skating rink. There is a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony to kick off the Christmas Season. It's fun to stroll along from one shop to the next and see all the fun Christmas decorations...People come from far away just to see and experience the Christmas spirit of Southlake Town Square. We have great restaurants and sidewalk cafes. Some of the shops include Coach, Coldwater Creek, Eddie Bauer, Liz Taylor, Fossil Watch, Banana Republic, Gap, Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, Bless Your Heart, Paper Closet and several other awesome Specialty Shops and wonderful salons and spas for those of us who like to pamper ourselves....Southlake is a fun place to just hang out and sit a spell...I've picked up a little Southern style lingo....

The weather here is awesome !! I feel like I'm on vacation all the time. Our Golf Courses are so plush and it's always fun to see the golfers in their plaids walking along just enjoying a good golf game. It's real common to run into a retired sports athlete, golf pro or a local TV celebrity just out and about town here in Southlake. We have great amenities for the entire family. Our Park and Recreation Center offers a wonderful selection of sports and social activities for the entire family. Our Southlake Senior Center has fun and exciting activities, luncheons and resources that meet the needs of our Seniors.

We have an incredible High School Football Team here in Southlake. Our PeeWee Football league is a great way to prepare our up and coming football stars...The PeeWee Football players participate in our annual Carroll High School Dragon Football Parade. The Parade is just another event that we have here in Southlake to show our community spirit.

I'm proud to say I have a son on the team....Just went to a game last night and we won... we won.. oh yes...oh yes...Having four boys and one daughter, I am a professional fan of all their sports... Selling Real Estate is my sanity...as well as being a Southlake Dragon Diva.

The faux finishes on the walls, the details of the crown molding and the little extras that the master builders have included in their designs really set our homes apart from other communties. A fun night out with the entire family is going to the Grapevine Opry located on Main Street in Grapevine. It's so cute and the singers greet the people/ guests after the performance. Grapevine has an old train from the 1800's called the Tarantula. It's fun to take an afternoon to ride the Tarantula into the Stockyards located in Fort Worth. The last time we took a ride on the Tarantula, which was just last month, we had an exciting time when the Cowboys on horses approcached the train and had a "shoot-out" and put on a little show for the kids. When we arrived at the Stockyards we had lunch at a real cute BBQ place. We bought giant cowboy hats, enjoyed the live Band and took a ride on the mechanical bull. The Stockyards are filled with shops and great places to eat.

Grapevine, Texas is located next to Southlake. This is the time of year for Grapevine Fest. It's their annual event. Main Street is blocked off for all the talented Artisns, vendors and all the great food stands. The best Kettle Korn ever is made at Grapevine Fest!! I'll go just for that !! People come from all around to attend this annual event... Grapevine Fest

The main reason why we chose Southlake was because of the great Schools...Carroll Independent School District, CISD, is a top rated School District in Texas. Our Schools have great programs that consistently challenge our students. I was blown away when my son had to do a Power Point Presentation in First Grade !! I had to learn how to do it first so I could help him!! It was a learning experience for both of us... The Parents are so involved in the education of their children which is awesome to see and be apart of that. It's a holistic approach to teaching our children...
