A Day Trip from Spring TX - Brazos Bend State Park - Alligators anyone!

By
Real Estate Agent with Results Realty

One of the things I love about living in Spring TX are the wonderful day trips you can take. Our daughter recently took a trip with her photogrpahy club to Brazos Bend State Park and after seeing her pictures we had to visit.  It is quite INCREDIBLE!!  I had NO IDEA that we had alligators living so close to us (this was only a little over an hour from our house).  For the most part the alligators were being very lazy as it was a very hot day.  We will need to go back when it cools down a bit so we can maybe see  more activity.

The pictures in the slide show are taken by our daughter as our camera lens is in being repaired.  I may be a proud Mom but I think she takes some incredible pictures!

Brazos Bend State Park - a day trip from Spring TX

This is part 2 which I could call alligators anyone. If you would like to see part one please visit Birds and Water Lilies at Brazos Bend State Park.

Marchel, more great photos. Your daughter did a beautiful job. It's really amazing what we notice around us when we stop long enough to look.

Those gator and marshy pictures are terrific Marchel. Didn't know you were that close to that much wildlife. I'm close to freeways and an occasional hawk or armadillo. When I see a roadrunner running through the brush I know the animals are still trying to survive amongst us humans and all our cars.

Not sure why but it never occurred to me there would be alligators on the Texas coast... Your daughter certainly took some fantastic photo's.

Hi Marchel,

Oh my soooo many alligators. I've seen-em in Florida and Mexico yet I had no idea you had these in TX too. Great shots.

BTW, I love day trips myself, being a tourist in my own back yard.

You are blessed to be around such scenic nature.... and it looks like your daughter is following in your footsteps with the photography talent.  We at Active Rain are also privileged to get this front row seat as you delight us with it all!

Very Nice.  Thanks for sharing, no offense, but I'm glad that I do not live near those 'gators!

Great photos.  Can I you a technical question about the slide show itself?  I'd love to do this on my blog.  What software or service did you use?  Thanks.

WENDY, I had no idea we had a park with Alligators so close to where we live.

GARY, When our daughter told us what she saw I was in AWE and had to go and see for myself.  Somehow you just don't think Texas and Alligators.

MICHAEL, Thanks!  I think she does a good job also, but I am the Mom so may be a little partial.

JESSE, You are right somehow you just don't think Texas and Alligators together.

LINDA, Day trips are fun!  We need to take more advantage of what we have in our own backyard.

TONY and DARCY, Thanks but she takes pictures way beyone my capabilities.

ANN, I'm with you!  We won't be taking out dog to this park.

DIANE, It is more like me following in her foot steps (LOL).

JUDI, I'm just as glad that they are over an hour away from where we live.

GAIL, I have to give Myrl Jeffcoat credit for the slide show.  She wrote a tutorial about animated blogging.  You will need to be able to upload the gif file to a website and then put that link on AR or it will not work.

I didn't know there were gators THERE...we went canoeing on Caddo Lake over by Louisiana once, and there are gators there, but we never saw them.  Now that I see them in your photos I guess I am glad we didn't see them from our canoe...=o(

Wow what great pictures.  On the news tonight they pulled a HUGE alligator out of the sewer in Florida.

Very nice slide show. The only alligators I want to see are in pictures like these or at the Zoo.

CHERYL, I have played in our Texas water for years now and had no IDEA that alligators were playing so close.

MYRL, I thought they were great gator pictures also.  Next time I should have my lens back and can take some of my own.

BILL, Brazos Bend State park was a really cool place.  We have lived here 12 years and did not know about it.  Now I'm wondering what else I'm missing.

GAIL, I have enjoyed the slide shows although they are a bit time consuming.

MONIQUE,I keep telling my daughter that she should get a masters in Photography but she loved graphic art until she got a degree in it so she is afraid that it would mess up what she loves.

CHRIS, I'm with you.  A healthy distance works for me.

DEBRA, I can't imagine a gator in the sewer.

JIM, It was kind of fun seeing them in the wild but with a bit of a healthy distance.
