The following is a slide show of the parade that took place on July 4th, 2009.

The days leading and including July 4th are very special in Red Lodge as that is when the Rodeo of Champions take place.

This year marked the 80th anniversary of the rodeo in Red Lodge, 80 years and still bucking!

Stay tuned later this week for a post with a slide show of my best photos of the Red Lodge Home of Champions.

It's Good to Be Here!!

Hi Gerry - Red Lodge knows how to put on a fabulous parade!  I seem to recognize some of the participants from last year's parade, including the large US flag escorted by the military and the girl on the horse.

I've noticed that the slide website photos do not display in certain browsers.  I see the slide, make your own, view all photos and adopt a pet, a large empty space for the photos but no photos.  This problem occurs in my Firefox 2.0 environment but not in my IE 6.0 browser.  If you use slide for marketing, you need to be aware of the issue.

I need to get some entries from people who know Toronto before I reveal the answer.  Make sure you read all the comments since there are a few clues I have given.

Hi Gerry, Red Lodge looks like a great little town.  I liked seeing the buildings and of course the parade.  Great assortment of horses and "horseless buggies", thanks for taking us to the Red Lodge Parade.

Marc,

You got my entry on your latest post.   It took me a few seconds but I believe I got the right answer and I got a big smile after coming up with it because the angle you took your photo from was hiding 99% of the structure.

I think the girl in the photo was a different one than the one in the 2008 Rodeo of Champions parade.  There were lots of young girls on horses holding a flag.  I just took a close-up of one.  It would be too funny and a pure coincidence if it was the same one.

Thank you for testing the slide show in different browsers.  I was not aware that it did not work with Firefox 2.0.   So far, I have only used it to share photos in AR and the online community.

Mary,

You are welcome.   Most of the buildings on the main street are on the historic buildings registry.   I am so glad that Red Lodge has kept the facades of these building fairly the same as what they looked in the early 1900's.   It gives you the perception that you are making a trip back in time when you enter this great little town.
