Before our sales staff meeting this morning I rode 18+ miles on my bicycle. One item that was interesting was the long concrete beams loaded on a barge that is in the Intracoastal Waterway near the new Oak Island Bridge construction site. It's amazing that these beams are to be lifted in place by the cranes some of which are loaded on barges. I look forward to seeing progress there every time we ride our bicycles down Yacht Drive.

Was told by a developers representative that there is a groundbreaking for a new Walgreens on one of the tracts. According to the signage, there should be a Lowe's Grocery Store there, but since I shop at the one at the 211 Long Beach Road intersection, I'd rather it be a Harris Teeter for variety.

The area definitely needs something like Mayfaire in Wilmington. Everyone goes to Wilmington and Myrtle Beach to shop. We would attract more visitors and more people interested in buying homes in our communities. I agree we desperately need Harris Teeter and not a Lowe's or Food Lion. Even better would be a Fresh Market.
