Water Stains Don't Have to be a Deal Killer...

By
Home Inspector with Complete Home Inspections, Inc. TN Lic#050
Some new home buyers and their agents really freak out when it comes to seeing water stains on the ceiling. In my ongoing series of videos "Helping YOU Live YOUR American Dream" I address this in my short 70 second video. I would greatly appreciate your input as to other series you feel may be helpful to you and your clients...

Michael...much, much better.  Good content and you seemed at ease in front of the camera.

Excellent. What a value this is for the future, you will be able to do more than one thing at a time. You can direct someone to "let's go to the video tape" for information on that.

Michael,

This is really good! Great content and won't it be wonderful to direct someone to the video's when they have a concern in this area.

Cool!  I like the production value!  If I were to be critical, which I think is what you're asking for...I would say that it looks like you're reading from a card.  It would be better if it were interenallized and more off the cuff.  Also I like the way you were able to lay the photo of what you're describing behind you, but the water spots were kind of hard to see.  It would be great if you could gesture more towards them, or have some sort of digital effect to draw the eye to them.  Gesturing to them would make it seem more conversational, but that might require a more complicated 2 screen setup like a weather man has.

Hopefully you didn't take offense to anything I wrote.  Those are just the only conceivable things I can see that would make it better.  It's obvious that you put a lot of work into it, and I'm sure it would be effective in it's current format.  I'm just putting on my perfectionist hat.

Were you able to accomplish this all on your own, or is there some sort of service that put it together for you?

Jason, I did the full production myself. I used chroma key technology to do the video. Apples are great machines for doing this type of thing.

WOW...this was a huge leap forward from your other one.  I agree that maybe drawing a circle around what you are talking about would help.  Awesome job!

Hi Michael,

Good Info, but you could have made it much better with a quick overview of how to fix it.  It seems if you just paint it, the stain still bleeds through.

LOVING IT. My only concern is volume control. I had everything on maximum volume and I had to listen real close to make it out. Could you use a mike boom or portable devise?

Much better! Stains were hard to see and I'm curious why you are reading instead of just talking? And from a 'female' point of view, pick a better color for your shirt. Or, go shirtless and show us those washboard abs. ;-)
