Now, this is a Man that I held in Great esteem. I grew up listening to him give our family the events of the world each night. We would sit around the TV and see all that was happening in the places we had only read about in books and newspapers.
He is an American Icon...and he will be missed...

Ginger - I firmly agree with you. He was a great communicator and takes us back to a time when the news was delivered without opinion. I miss those days and we owe a debt of gratitude for Mr. Cronkite's service to the public. All the best.
Now that's a name I have not heard in a long time. Bring back many memories.
Heard of his passing late last night, and had to stop, pause and remember him with great respect. Yes he was a real American icon.

He was a great newspaper man. I trusted him. My Mother and Daddy trusted him. He was a trustworthy person.

Walter was one of a kind and will be missed. I didnt find out until much later in the day. Im sure if I played on twitter just a little, someone mentioned it.
