Got Computer Skills?

My 12 year old daughter took a quiz in her computer class and got an "A".  When I learned about it I askedTime for a computer quiz permission for her to bring it home and share.  Her computer class was pretty interesting to me.  When I took computer class we used floppy disks and took typing tests.  Our first home computer was a HUGE deal and it was Texas Instruments so we could play munch man.

It rocked.

In 2009 my daughter was asked in her computer class to name 10 attributes of Google, how to clear your cache in your browser, and other useful geek speak.  I thought it would be fun to make up a computer quiz so here we go.

Test your computer knowledge.  Are you smarter than the average sixth grader?

Try to answer these without GOOGLE first.

That is a pretty good little quiz.  While many people use those things everyday, they will still have difficulty explaining them or answering questions about them.  To some degree it is akin to asking a driver of an automobile questions about the mechanics of the car or about the design of it.  Most consumers don't want to know, they just want to drive it.

Hi Rebecca, sure challenge me - lol.  For something I use every day I realize I know very little about it after taking a look at your quiz.  It amazes me what our kids are learning these days and I realize very soon I will not be able to help my daughter with her homework without using a text book or the computer to figure out how to help her.  Looking forward to seeing the answers to see how I did.   ~Anne Marie
