It's 6 am, what do I blog about today???

Ok, I'm up, made it to a new day!  Got my first cup of Joe (light and sweet by the way), and I'm ready to start tip tip typing away at a new topic....

What topic?  What do I write about now?  I've made a commitment to this blogging thing, but what the heck do I write about now!!??!

I think the biggest fear and challenge for most professionals who want to implement blogging into their daily activities is coming up with topics and content.  After pondering on this, I decided to come up with a few random topics that i could write about easily with little to no research:

  • My self (who doesn't like talking about themselves).
  • My children (it NEVER gets dull with a 3 year old in the house).
  • My dog (Chachi, the human Shi Tzu, ahhhh the stories I could tell).
  • My city (Virginia Beach is THE vacation hidden hot spot)
  • My business (what can I say, I love selling homes!)
  • Jokes (be careful with this one)
  • & other random thoughts (breathing, sunflowers, lint, whatever!)

Once you have a topic in mind the rest is a piece of cake!  Gather your information and go from there.  For instance, if I were writing about the local real estate market my area of Virginia, I would include links to the following websites:

VaHomeConnect.com - one of my personal websites where anyone can search for any home for sale in Virginia Beach and the entire Hampton Roads area!

5501 Barnhollow Dr, Norfolk VA - A link to my newest listing for sale, a hidden treasure nestled amongst majestic Oaks and tranquil Lake Taylor in Norfolk Virginia.

My top 10 under $100,000 - A link to a list of personally picked homes for sale in the Hampton Roads area for sale for less than $100K.  List includes foreclosures, bank owned, HUD/Government Owned.

Add Links to your profile on other social networking sites so clients can get a better feel about you, what makes you tick, and your business, check out a few of mine here  - My Trulia Profile - My Zillow Profile  -Follow me on Twitter  and add me as a friend of FACEBOOK!

There, I'm done!  This is just the beginning and I am just getting started for the day.  The outcome is a well written blog that I am proud of (yes, I am my own "biggest cheerleader", hahaha) and ready for the world to see, learn from and converse about!  Original content always works best, let your inner voice shine.  Remember to have fun and lest I forget, SAVE OFTEN!!!  (I lost my ENTIRE post and had to re-type.  I could really do without the typing practice, UGH!!!)

What have your experiences been?  What ideas and comments do you have for others who may be on the fence about blogging???  Feel free to share your comments, short cuts and other ideas here!  We'd love to hear from you Active Rainers!!!  In the meantime, feel free to call or text me via my new Google Voice number 404-939-4890 or online www.AsiyahAli.com.

GOOD MORNING Asiyah!  This is the best!  Today is one of those "blog block" days and on top of it - trying to figure how to incorporate links -- and you've done it all right here!  Love it! -- Gabrielle

I have to say...just having become a KW agent within the last couple weeks we have had a whirlwind of activity so my blogging dedication has slipped a bit. What I find helpful is that I have a word file that as topics occur to me I put them in there...sometimes a headline ....as time allows...the list becomes a blog.....

My son Alex gave me the daily blog post...his statement about Maine cows no longer having sex hit me funny. Completely something out of the blue, nothing about real estate.

Hi, Asiyah. I am new to Active Rain and new to blogging so I'm learning as much as I can as fast as I can. I have learned ALOT from reading various posts! One of the first things I did was to establish short-term and long-term goals. I guess I need to re-think that now because I am about to reach my first long-term goal, which was to accrue 10,000 points, and it's only been two weeks. I got alot of those points by blogging so, like you, I am now starting to think of what I might write about. I really like your idea of having categories. It's amazing what you see as you go through the day that will fit into one of those categories and become a post. It's helping me to keep my eyes open, as I look for opportunities. I have also found that carrying a camera helps because I am now seeing some great pictures that suggest the subject for a post.
