Hi Myrl, I love to be at places like this. The water looks so clean but I expect that it is also as cold as ice.

Premier - And that's exactly what I did:-)

Wanda - A person could put their feet in that water. . .But let me tell you it's pretty cold:-)

Ann - This spot is in Yosemite National Park, and there are areas which you can raft.  But it would likely be a little treacherous right here.

Bob - I'm glad you liked it!

June - Stonewall shounds like a great name for a place like that.  It made me wonder what kind of earth upheavel could move stones and position them like that!  It must have been almost cataclysmic:-)

Eric - It was a mere day when I decided to get the Hell out of Dodge for awhile, and visit somewhere nice.  This shot is in Yosemite National Park.  I hadn't planned on traveling that far when I got up that morning and left home.  I was just going for a little drive.  But voila' 3 hours later, this is where I ended up!

William - You are so correct.  That spot in the river is fed by the snow covered mountains that rushes down Yosemite Falls, and feeds this river. . .It's ICY COLD.

Robert - I'm so glad you liked it!. . .Thanks for visiting!

This is by Yosemite, right? I think I've my geography right but I could be wrong. I hear people go river rafting there. It looks like the waters are a little rough in that photo.

Trey - I'm glad you enjoy the water pictures. . .You take great pictures of interesting subjects too.

Jim - I can't even imagine the power that it took to place those stones like that.

Tony and Darcy - There was a kind of music that the rushing water made as it made its way through the rocks.

Toula - Glad you like it!

Integrity - There are places along the Merced that are great for fishing.

Elizabeth - Yes, it's very near Yosemite, or actually in it.  I had gotten up one morning around 5:00 am and decided to go for a little ride.  I had no particular destination in mind, but by 9:00 am I was in Yosemite.  It is amazing what we have within a short distance or a day drive from Sacramento.  The Merced has great places to raft.  This particular spot isn't one of 'em:-)

Hi Myrl, Looks like a beautiful spot in Yosemite.  I see that you mentioned that you can go rafting in other parts of the river, that sounds like a great time.

Myrl,

We have a beautiful creek by the name of Rock Creek that goes through Red Lodge.  Those are much larger rocks in the river than I am used to seeing!  Merced River looks beautiful too and a nice peaceful place to take a break.
