Worthington Estates is one of the biggest residential neigborhoods in the City of Worthington I believe. It is one of the most desirable Worthington neighborhoods for families with children because:
- there are families with children
- the size of the homes
- walk to schools
- access to the bike trails and park
I think...
Located just west of High Street, between High Street and the Olentangy River with the Olentangy Hills neighborhood to the north and the Worthingway neighborhood to the south.
Most of the Worthington Estates homes were built in the 1960's. The floor plans are pretty predictable. Most are two stories... there are one story homes with a handful of bilevels, cape cods, split levels (had to rack my brain to remember a Worthington Estates split level....) I remember one on Bowerman Street? I believe it was on Bowerman. I showed a split in the neighborhood in 2002.
The floor plans while predictable... work.
Worthington Estates has some homes that are on ravines. I got an opportunity to preview one of those this week. There are a small percentage of lots that look like this but I could not resist taking a photo. The neighborhood is gorgeous this year with the cooler weather. Green and refreshing.
The west end of the Worthington Estates neighborhood backs up to the bike trail and the Olentangy Parklands.
Worthington Estates East is east of High Street. I'll write about that neighborhood in the future. The very brief Wikipedia article about Worthington Estates lumps the two neighborhoods together. I don't. Worthington Estates is one of the hardest neighborhoods for me to write about... I have issues. It's me not the neighborhood. My office is east of Worthington Estates. The Real Living HER Worthington office at 6902 N. High Street's backyard backs up to Worthington Estates East.
I will write more about the Worthington Estate Elementary School in a week or so... I don't want to think about back to school yet. I am hearing back to school ads and buzz about back to school ads. As the Worthington Estates Elementary sign says "Have a Fantastic Summer!"
