My First Flip Video - 8 Wildwood Drive

By
Real Estate Agent with Gayle Harvey Real Estate, Inc.

This is my first attempt at creating a video using the Flip Video Camera.  This film is of the interrior of my listing at 8 Wildwood Drive in the gated community of Lake Monticello.

Taking the pictures were fairly easy.  I tood several small clips of most of the rooms.  The trick was holding the camera steady and not moving too fast so that the viewer would n't get motion sickness.  Then I downloaded it all onto my computer.  The next step was to edit each of the individual segments using the cut option.  Then it was time to create the movie dragging each of the segments into the correct order.  It was easy to add a title and music in the Flip video software.  Finally it was time to download to Youtube.  This last step took several tries, but was finally accomplished.

Now I wanted to find the embed code so that I could publish the video to Active Rain.  I searched my youtube account and couldn't find the embed code anywhere.  Finally I queried youtube help and found out that if I played the video and clicked on one of the icons on the video screen I could find the embed code.

I am optomistic that the next time I attempt to do this it will go must faster.  Now I need to work on the actual filming.

I think that this is a good tool for showcasing my listings.

Hi pam _ I too am working with a similar video device.  I am using it to ecord my referral agents and placing their filmed clip on my website for that specific city.  good stuff but a lot to learn when you begin to getinto editing, lighting, sound etc.  good luck!

I love my Flip!  I have been putting together property videos and posting all day today!  It is such fun and so easy to use!  Welcome to the world of Flip!  Good job!

Pam - looks like a pretty good job, especially for a first time. You could try a tripod if you want to make sure that the camera is steady.

Nevin - That is a good use of video.  i would like to do neighborhood videos in my area.  Also maybe one with the major features of the city.

Jeani - This is the office camere which I signed out to try.  Now I will have to buy one of my own.  I think to get proficient one needs to use it all the time.

Mike - I agree a tripod would produce a more professional video.  Of course one of the great features of the flip is the portability and ease of operation.

Bill - None of this technology does us a darn bit of good if we don't use it. :)  One thing that is interesting is the fact that everyone seems to be viewing this video fine, but it only shows up on Firefox on my computer.  On IE I just have a square with one of those darn red xes.  Any suggestions?

I just filmed for the first time a new condo patio which is stunning, I haven't uploaded it yet, but am looking forward to.  This really helps teh potential buyers get a feel for the space.  good work on your first, I hope I do as well!
