Lake Winnemaug is a large freshwater lake located in the southwestern corner of Watertown, CT . To reach Lake Winnemaug in Watertown, CT, you can either travel south along Middlebury Road and turn right onto Lake Winnemaug Road, or you can travel south on Hamilton Road, turn left onto Artillery Road and either turn right onto Pawnee Road and follow it to Osage Circle, or you can travel further along Artillery Road and turn right onto Flintlock Road.

 

(In the map of Lake Winnemaug , there are two roads, Flintlock Road and Caruso Drive, that seem to be connected, and another road, Mohican Road, that seems to connect with Lake Winnemaug Road. They were intended to be, but residents of the Lake Winnemaug area decided that it would be best to leave the roads unconnected to preserve the peace and tranquility of the lake and avoid unnecessary traffic around Lake Winnemaug . If anyone were to try to travel any further along these roads, you would most likely find your way obstructed by a dense patch of trees and no dirt road to follow).

 

During the summer months, boating, fishing, and canoeing are popular activities to enjoy on the lake. Only members of the Lake Winnemaug Association have access to the lake via a small landing at the southeastern edge of the lake, near Caruso Drive. Residents of Lake Winnemaug can access the lake from the landing on Lake Winnemaug Road and also from the northern half of the lake via the Lake Winnemaug Association, which has a small swimming area, beach, picnic area and playground for Lake Winnemaug Association members to enjoy.

 

The Lake Winnemaug area in Watertown, CT is a residential area that is comprised of an eclectic mix of cottages, ranch style homes, colonial style homes, and contemporary style homes. Most of the houses in the Lake Winnemaug area of Watertown, CT were built between 1940 and 1960, with a few newer additions in the last 15 years.

 

There are currently six houses for sale in the Lake Winnemaug area of Watertown, CT.

I grew up in wtby ct every summer my friend eddy mathues had a cottage on lake winnemaug in watertown ct. we would go there mostly every summer. so would the girls being teenagers it was our place to go . eddy had a vespa and we would take turns driveing it . he was my best friend. And we grew up together, He lived around the corner from my house, and we went every where when I moved to florida I came back but his family moved to mass. never saw him again.It I know he got married so did I. see ya.

EDDIE do you remember your old buddy KnowlesRichards,your dad owned matties pakage store out east end. you had a sister Ilean and, mary. Also you married carol cravin at least I think thats how you spell her last name. I lived on high st you lived on orange st. Just up from that big family half the kids had cross eyes. There is access for anyone at the public launch at the corner of Caruso Dr and Lake Winnemaug Rd. There is no public access any where else on the lake. Coming in from Artillery Rd and Pawnee is all privately owned. Non residents will be escorted from the property. Only association members are allowed.
