Have You Ever Looked at YOUR OWN HOME on the MLS?

By
Real Estate Agent with Realty ONE Group

When searching through the MLS system, I sometimes run into listings that are showcased and written very poorly!  I think of the home seller attached to that listing and wonder how they would feel if they saw the way their home was being marketed!

"What could possibly go wrong when listing on the MLS?" you ask. Well, for starters, photos!

I have witnessed:

1.  NO pictures of the house and NO description in the comments section!

2. Pictures that were SO dark or blurry they might as well have not been there!

3. One or two pictures of the house, which paints TOO LITTLE of a picture!

4. A backyard photo of Fido peeing on the grass, which paints TOO MUCH of a picture!

5.  What turned out to be a GORGEOUS golf course lot, with NO picture of the gorgeous golf course lot!

It's also very important that the details about your home and your neighborhood are correct in the MLS!

I have witnessed:

1.  No mention of a cul-de-sac lot being a cul-de-sac lot!

2.  A regular community advertised as an active-adult community!

Most real estate agents do a wonderful job of showcasing their listings on the MLS, but you need to make sure that your home is one of them.  When you sell your home, be sure to ask your real estate agent to email you a link to YOUR OWN MLS LISTING.  In today's market, every detail counts!

I so agree.  Pictures are worth a 1000 words.  The best way to make sure to sell your home is to give the buyers what they want and they want information.  They shouldn't have t chase the information, it should be readily available to them.  In today's market you have to do everything possible to sell your home - leave nothing to chance and PAY ATTENTION TO EVERY DETAIL.

Hi Robin! Buyers definitely want information, and painting them a great picture to go along with the information makes the message that more effective.  Thanks for commenting!
