Foreclosures are known more now to potential buyers then ever before. In Many areas sales of foreclosed properties account for the majority of sales in the market. The bus tours started a few years ago in places such as California and Florida, states hard hit by foreclosures.
RealtyTrac reported 1,085 foreclosure filing on the Island for the first six months of the year.That means one in every 164 households on the Island was in some state of foreclosure. Staten Island is ranked fourth among New York counties when it comes to the rate of foreclosures statewide.
Fillmore Real Estate had the first foreclosure tour bus on Saturday 07/25/09. I don't know how it went because I was not there. Some people attended who were hoping to possibly find a home and somewent just because they were curious.
