That "right now" appointment - Qualify Qualify Qualify

By
Real Estate Agent with CENTURY 21 Town & Country

One of my favorite agents took a call today from our receptionist.  He took the call as he was driving into the office.  It was a prospective buyer who wanted to see condos "right now".  Note that it was approaching the noon hour. He called his future client who told him exactly what she wanted but wouldn't give him her phone number.  She was firm about calling him back. He hurried into the office and looked up the information.  Waited for her to call back.  She called back and he told her the condos were available.  She wanted him to pick her up at her apartment. She gave her address but not the apartment number.  He arrived at her apartment complex and she was waiting outside.  She got into his car.  She was in her late 70s, wore a pants suit, a blank stare and gave him choppy sentences while admiring her red nails.  Not very talkative.  She reminded him of his grandmother who had dementia. Nevertheless, he proceeded. They arrived at the condos: at the first one, she thoroughly went through it, while announcing that she is not really interested.  After the second condo she said that she was hungry and can they stop to get a bite to eat - and mentioned a very well known upscale restaurant.  He offered to take her to a place that would serve a quicker meal and she suggested a coney island. She ordered.  He didn't.  He wondered what he got himself into.  He drank water.  After the meal, she excused herself and went off to the ladies room.  He waited.  Next he saw her walk past him and the booth they were sitting in. He is horrified that she walked past the booth and goes to the front of the restaurant. She waited for him.  You guessed it.  He approached the cashier and she yelled back "don't forget to tell them about the senior discount."  Yep, he paid the bill.  The third condo was now gone from his memory. An emergency came up. He told her he had another appointment and had to take her home.  She asked if he could drop her at the nearest KMart.  He sped to the nearest KMart.  As she was exiting the car, she said "Can you pick me up tomorrow?" He said "I am busy with clients all week."

Four hours out of his day - just gone.

Who said there is no such thing as a "free lunch."

Funny but that happens more than one would think. Who needs a taxi when they can get an agent for free.

And what's funny is she called again the next day.  My friend is busy for the rest of his life... for her.

Lydia,

This is an amazing story.  The agent in your office is a trusting soul and that' good ... up to a point.  I'm so glad that he is now busy for the rest of his life for this "customer".
