Deercreek - Worthington area

Deercreek sign

The Deercreek subdivision is off Park Road in northern Franklin County just west of I-71,  if you go across the highway you will be in the City of Westerville.  The Deercreek neighborhoods are in the City of Columbus in the Worthington area.

The oldest single family homes in the Deercreek subdivision seem to be from 1979.  There is a mixture of home styles and builders in Deercreek.  There are some Romanelli and Hughes homes,  Grisez homes (The Grisez  family was from the Canton area... records show Grisez Bros. Grisez Brothers. )

There is more variety in Deercreek than in many neighborhoods in the Far North Area of Columbus.

The Village at Deercreek sign Village at Deercreek is a condominium community within the Deercreek subdivision in the Worthington area. The condos at The Village at Deercreek, are on the north- east side of  the Deercreek subdivision (also spelled Deer Creek sometimes.)  Romanelli and Hughes built the condominiums at Village in Deercreek, in the mid 1980s.  The Village at Deercreek condominiums are in the City of Columbus and the Worthington School district, as are the single family homes in Deercreek.

Some of the condos have walkout basements on the creek.  You can see why there'd be plenty of deer in this area before I-71 and the huge sound walls.  Sharon Woods Metro Park a favorite spot for bucks and does is just east of the Deercreek subdivisons.

The condominiums in the Village at Deercreek were built in 1985.

Deercreek - map  shows the original Deercreek subdivision and the condominiums The Village at Deercreek- Keydeer and Six Point on the north east end and  Ravines at Deercreek - map

The Ravines at Deercreek is NOT connected to Deercreek....  if you find yourself driving round and The Village at Deercreek sign round looking for a street that has "Deer," "Buck", etc.  in the name it may be that you need to get back out on the main road (Worthington Woods Blvd.  or Park Road ) and get over to the other unconnected subdivision.  The Ravines at Deercreek you enter off Worthington Woods Boulevard to Deer Crossing.

The homes in Ravines at Deercreek are varied as well.  Grisez homes, Gemstar homes and small builders.. not all MI or all Dominion or a mix of MI Homes  and Dominion as many Central Ohio homes are. The Ravines at Deercreek was built in the late 1980's to the mid 1990s.

The old victorian house on Worthington Woods Blvd has a "Ravines at Deer Creek" legal description.  That house was moved there relatively recently.  I have seen it referred to as the Shrock family home.

The doubles that Pingue built on the on the eastside of Worthington Woods Boulevard east of the Victorian house...

The Deercreek neighborhoods are in the Worthington school district.  Worthington area homes for sale (condominiums and single family) - a market report through June 2009 Deercreek, Ravines at Deercreek and The Village at Deercreek are all reflected in the stats.  Homes (single family or condo) in Deercreek or Ravines at Deercreek are in the City of Columbus but are in the Worthington School District. The school district boundaries were set long before the area was developed... Actually the Far North area of Worthington may be one with a more interesting story about the school district boundaries.  Maybe I will blog about that someday.
