Marchel - That's an especially nice picture you have there Lady! I like the rocks, the water, the plant life. Look at the color of the leaves on those cat-tails!
Was this taken in your garden?
my wife wants me to build one, but I worry about the Winter....
your friend in Charlottesville Virginia!
I LOVE Mercer Aboretum...its a little jewel nestled right on Aldine Westfield and (too) few people even know it is there. So peaceful, so beautiful and each season/each year they continue to add new areas, new plants, new features. When I was in grad school I used to frequently pack up my books and go study there. I wasn't thrilled to have to read/study at the volume that was required and somehow being outside, being there made it so much better. Thanks for the reminder ... I haven't been there for awhile and need to put it back on my list.
Hi Marchel, Great title for the photo! The sunshine was on my screen and I didn't notice, at first, that the plants appear to be sculptures. I bet the Arboretium is beautifully lit at night, and a very peaceful place.
Hello Marchel,
Lovely photo! Very peaceful and beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Rita
Great place to "cool off" and try to forget the cares of the world...very peaceful!
Howdy there Marchel
One sure could just sit back, and get lossed in their thoughts. Next to a fine spot like that.
My dear friend Thank for another fine photo to look at.
Marchel, peaceful is a good way to describe that scene, different would be another.
The only ptoblem I have with it is that they probably close the opace while I'm wanting to stay open
CAROLE, It is truly one of those places where you can spend hours or even days!
CARL and CEIL, I love go to Mercer Arboretum. The whole garden is peaceful!!
JUNE, I'm partial to water also. We have a small waterfall in our backyard and I find it so peaceful.
RICH, I used the arboretum as a backdrop for a You tube video about my area. It was fun I could just stand in one place and turn in a circle talking.
MONIQUE, I love hearing water also.
WILLIAM, I just came from you San Diego photo and I loved it.
SABRINA, You are right Mercer is a bit of a fairy tale setting.
STEVE, Arboretums are a wonderful place to go with a camera.
LINDA, The cat tails were some kind of iron work and whomever did it was very gifted.
KATERINA, Thanks! I took so many of this pond it was hard to decide which one to use.
MYRL, Thanks! I love the color on the cat tails also. What a gifted sculptor this was!
CHARLES, We have a small waterfall in our back yard but it is NOTHING like this.
JUDITH, We moved here in 1996 and just last year I figured out that Mercer was FREE. I have been quite a number of times since that discovery. I LOVE IT!!
MARY, Isn't it an incredible sculpture. What a gift!!
DEBI, They are fountains so not only beautiful but also make beautiful water sounds.
RITA, Thanks! It is a pretty sculpture.
CHERYL, It is a good place to visit although not very cool right now. We have had an unusually HOT summer.
DALE, Thanks for stopping by to check my picture out.
GEORGE, It is peaceful and different!
KAREN, It has fairly long hours; especially in the summer.
Hi Marchel, I haven't seen cattails in ages. We all need a peaceful place to retreat.
Marchel, These are great photos for someone thinking about moving to your area.
Marchel,
I can almost hear the sound of the water trickling down. Sure looks peaceful. Thanks for sharing.
I use to hang out at Mercer quite often back when it was a small 20 acres or so. I understand from friends that it is now up in the 300-acre range. Might be time for me to visit Texas again.
Marchel this is truly a stunting shot and as you rightly pointed out a peaceful setting, thanks for sharing.
