Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX SOLUTIONS 9695882

Buyers before you start to look for a house to buy get pre-qualified  first through a mortgage Banker or through your own bank or your Credit Union.

  • Why get pre-qualified you may ask?  the truth is that it will make your buying process go through with little or no hassle. It will also, show your agent that you are a serious buyer.
  • It will help you find out what price range of home that you are qualified to purchase.
  • It will help you to see if you could buy with little money down or no money down.
  • The Mortgage Representative or Loan Officer will show you based on the price of the home what your monthly payments will look like. They will also answer such questions like how much down payment do i need, how can i save money on my closing costs,or even what kind of mortgage options are available and suitable for you.
  • Ask them if they have special FIRST TIME HOME Buyers PROGRAM.

Thanks for the information Paul.  Fortunately for us, we sell in a resort area.  Most of our buyers are in the second home/retirement market.  70%+ of our buyers pay cash so we have to prequalify very few of these buyers.  Generally if the purchase price is under 350k we get them prequalified.

Buyers get upset if you ask that they get pre qualified first and it is a sensitive topic. I prefer to work with referred buyers, because they alreadt have a good reference and trust you.

This is the grandaddy of all things to do to qualify buyers, but also if you can get them to answer some qualifying questions based on what  type of home they are looking for, get them to meet AT YOUR OFFICE to counsel with you, and also get them to sign a Loyalty Agreement, then you REALLY have a qualified and motivated buyer!
