Hi Jim - You don't have to have ANY homes like this in your area. It's really more of a general interest group. I just really enjoy keeping up on what's new in modern design. I comb through lots of blogs, but people come up with all kinds of interesting things that I wouldn't come across on my own. So, I hope you'll join anyway and check in from time to time. Pangaea: I am joining because I fee thisis a weak area in my background. I worked for 220 years as Director of PR and Marketing Communications at Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library so am versed in earlier periods.

I think, even in areas such as mine, whre "colonial" and "traditional" are the norm there is a growing interest in Modern design among younger clients.

Hi Janice! Welcome! Thank you for joining and also for telling us a little about your background. That must have been a very interesting place to be. It certainly is beautiful. I know that I'm in the minority as a fan of very modern design. But I have always preferred very simple and somewhat minimal looks over more ornate design. I know there must be others like me out there. If you enjoy looking through home magazines, I would suggest Dwell as being a good place to start for a publication emphasizing modern design in everything from big high-end homes to very small spaces used efficiently. They also have quite a bit on sustainable design as well. Although you don't have to make your home look any particular style to be going "green". I hope we get some good discussions going on about modern design ... the good, the bad and the ugly. :)

Hey ! I came across this when I was trying to look at modern architecture images. I'm actually studying architecture at the university in my country, Fiji . Your buildings are quite interesting as they display a great sense of imagination. This has got me thinking of what i'll try to do for my major project next year. Thanks!
