Disturbing Palm Pre Commercial - Scary is My Vote!

Hello, fellow AR Professional,

Would love to know your thoughts on the following Palm Pre Commercial spot I saw for the first time on television last night. Disturbing?

Making you feel more comfortable in your Buying process than the Palm Pre Girl,

Hi Ashley,  I had the same response when I saw the ad.  Weird, not sure what the point was.

Ashley - what I find most disturbing is that gads and gads of money was probably spent on that ad and promotion and will probably backfire on them.

it's edgy...that's the idea. But it's spooky to me too.  Does this type of advertising appeal to the pre/post teen crowd or to the business crowd?

Kind of creepy. I have a Palm now, but I'm thinking of switching to Blackberry instead of upgrading to the new Palm Pre. Any suggestions?

I hope you'll remember me if you learn of anyone moving to "The OC" and I will do the same!

Best regards.

I'll say, It is very strange, I have not idea what was the point of that. I think they are running out of ideas to comeup with better commericals.

AR Blogging Friends,

Strange, but the phone is really nice. it does some interesting things. It charges without wires, you just lay it on this pad, and it does WiFi, which most smartphones do now, but it also becomes a Hot Spot and can connect 5 computers to the net still without wires. The screen resolution is great too. Strange commercial... nice phone.
