Every once in a while, we choose to feature a local business, and today's spotlight will go to one of our favorite hotspots, Solon Freeway Lanes, voted Best Bowling Alley by Cleveland Magazine. While Freeway Lanes does have multiple locations throughout the Cleveland area, our focus will be on the one right here in the heart of Solon.
After completing a major renovation a few years ago, Solon Freeway Lanes has quickly become the one-stop shop for everything entertainment in Solon and surrounding suburbs. For starters, Freeway Lanes has state-of-the art bowling lanes, making it one of the most popular places to bowl on the entire east side. It is also a great place to have a birthday party, with party packages that are deemed very affordable by local parents. You can never go wrong with bowling and pizza. For the more serious bowlers, they offer a variety of Men's, Woman's, Mixed,
Senior and Junior leagues as well.
Solon Freeway Lanes also offers a ton of special events. One of the most popular events is cosmic bowling. In fact, our kids practically beg us to go every week. It is held on Friday and Saturday nights and is offered in 2 hours shifts, with the earlier shifts being geared more toward families and young children with teens and young adults taking over during the later shifts. Cosmic bowling is a ton of fun and resembles a dance club, complete with lighting, a DJ, fog machine, and drop down screens that play videos.
While Freeway Lanes is known for bowling, there is a lot more to do there than bowl. The lounge area offers a full menu of food, a full bar complete with an outdoor patio, pool tables, and a game room. There is also a monthly list of different activities including Karaoke.
Solon Freeway Lanes is perfect for corporate events and special occasions such as Bar Mitzvahs, Anniversaries and graduation parties.
We were personally at a wedding party there recently and it was a ton of fun. We had our own personal area to bowl and then a private room where we were served a fantastic catered gourmet meal ( and we are very picky eaters!). It was a really fun party that definitely stood out compared to all the traditional stuffy events we've attended over the years.
