Hi Debbie: You're welcome. I use Photoshop CS3, but did a trial version of Elements and found it to be great. So, I just thought I'd pass this info along.

I have been using the same program for years...Adobe Photodelux Home Edition.  It is ancient.  It is what I know...and it takes time to learn something new!  We have Elements 6 (I think) and we have Photoshop CS3, but it is finding the time to learn them that is the hard part.

I bought Photoshop Elements 4 but was not impressed with it so I fell back on Corel Paint and Photoshop 5.5 which I had been using forever. I am seriously considering upgrading to Photoshp CS4.

Hi Sharon: Sorry I didn't respond sooner. Somehow I missed your comment. I've never used Photodelux, and have only played with the trial version of Elements. I use CS3, and it's an awesome program. But there's definitely a learning cure to it.

Hi Russel: Thanks for the comment. I tried Elements 6, and it wasn't too bad - for what it is. I definitely prefer Photoshop. But it is very costly, and most people would never begin to use its potential.

I just got Elements 7 and trying to learn it. Any good places you would recommend going? I am a quick learner - but this is something completely new to me. I have used Picasa up till now and it is just so easy.

Hi Nicky: Thanks for the comment. Admittedly, any version of Photoshop can have a pretty steep learning curve - but well worth it. I'm not really up on the best places to learn or for tutorials, but Adobe seems to have some decent stuff on their site. Did the program come with any tutorials? If so, they are usually worthwhile.

Here's a couple of links that might be a good place to start.

Update: Nicky, I forgot to put this link. It's a blog post I wrote recently that has links to various tutorials that also might be helpful.

Photoshop is NOT a dirty word.

I have never used Photoshop because they are always so expensive, is this just an add on to one of the current photoshop programs, or can you buy this by itself & use it?

Hi Kayla: No, Photoshop Elements is not an add-on or plug-in. It's a full standalone program. If you're interested, they do have a free trail version that might be worth downloading. Thanks for the comment.

Mike, I've considered buying PhotoShop for a while now and have not invested the money in it yet.  After reading you posts, I think it's time to make my move and buy it.  Thanks for your informative posts.

Hi Irene: You're most welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed my posts. If you've never used Photoshop, Elements is probably a good program to start with. And they have a free trial. So, that would at least let you decide if you like it.

Hi Judi: Now, that's the way to do it! Too bad they don't promote their products like that more often. Thanks for the comment.

Hi Gregory: Yeah, Adobe makes some pretty powerful programs, and Elements is just one of them. Thanks for the comment

Hi Sallie: Version 2? Wow! That's almost an antique. I haven't used JASC's Paint Shop, but I know a lot people do and speak fairly highly of it. Thanks for stopping by.
